Eligibility Criteria:

• Nationality:

  • Citizen of India

  • Subject of Nepal

  • Subject of Bhutan

  • Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India

• Age Limit:

  • Minimum: 21 years

  • Maximum: 32 years as of August 1, 2025

  • Age Relaxation:

    • OBC: Up to 3 years

    • SC/ST: Up to 5 years

• Educational Qualification:

  • Graduation from a recognized university

Number of Attempts:

• General Category: Up to 6 attempts

• OBC: Up to 9 attempts

• SC/ST: Unlimited attempts within the age limit

Selection Process:

The UPSC CSE 2025 selection process involves three stages:

1. Preliminary Examination:

   • Paper I: General Studies (Objective Type)

   • Paper II: Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) (Qualifying in nature)

2. Main Examination:

   • Nine Papers:

     • Essay

     • General Studies (Four Papers)

     • Optional Subjects (Two Papers)

     • Indian Language

     • English

3. Personality Test (Interview):

   • To assess personal qualities and suitability for administrative roles
